Dinner 2-20-16

This is a very special meal, because it is highlighting wine made by my cousin Zac. For the past six years, he was growing grapes in Michigan and making his own wine. Each course is paired with a petite sampling of his work.

Course 1-- Home grown potimarron squash spinach salad with hazelnuts and hot brown sugar-balsamic-bacon dressing

Paired with Valvin Muscat

Course 2-- Smoky masala tomato soup with pan-fried panelle and shaved brussel sprouts

Paired with Marquette 2013

Course 3-- Portabella mushroom-eggplant moussaka with layers of potato, white beans, sundried tomato, almond-garlic cream, and a roasted red pepper sauce. Garnished with oven-roasted lacinato kale.

Paired with Marquette 2012

Course 4-- Chocolate raspberry truffle cake

Paired with Raspberry wine
